Christmas Day 2022

THE COUPLE THAT PRAYS TOGETHER STAYS TOGETHER.

 December 25th – Christmas Day 2022

 Christ, the Wisdom of God

“He came to his own domain and his own people did not accept him.” In the presence of the Christmas Crib and conscious of the stable Christ was born in, we can so easily hear that sentence and stand in judgement on the people of the past. But we need to let it speak to us about ourselves. We are now the people Christ lives among. What difference does that make in our lives? To accept him means to be on fire with all that he stands for in humanity’s relationship with God and with the world we live in. It is to take seriously our call to love in marriage and in family life in ways that radiate God to the world. It means building our parish community so that every person is cared for and where each one is valued and treasured. It means being a people who are part of the transformation of the world into the Kingdom of God. That is again the challenge of faith during this Christmas time.

Morning Prayer, when together

God of power and life,

glory of all who believe in you,

fill the world with your splendour

and show the nations the light of your truth.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

During the day, when apart

Lord, make holy the gift of our love

through the coming of your Son

who shows us the way of truth

and promises the life of your kingdom.

We ask this through Christ Our Lord.

Evening/Night Prayer together

Lord, hear our prayers

as we thank you for our marriage.

Keep us faithful to your word and help us grow in love.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.  Amen.
