THE COUPLE THAT PRAYS TOGETHER STAYS TOGETHER.
Second Sunday of Advent
December 8th 2013
Prepare a way for the Lord
“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.” These words of John the Baptist in this Sunday’s Mass are sometimes used to scare people. They are really another way of saying waken up and see the wonder and beauty all around you. The main way to repent is to stop taking so much for granted and begin again to have a sense of wonder in all the goodness that is in your life. A sure sign of repentance is joy. The first place to look for this is in your home and among your family. Count your blessings here and begin seeing how much you are receiving from those you love rather than all you think you are giving. This will be a wonderful preparation for the joy of Christmas. Secondly look at the community of faith you belong to and acknowledge all the gifts and graces you receive there. And give thanks.

Morning Prayer together:
God of power and mercy, open our hearts in welcome.
Remove the things that hinder us from receiving Christ with joy
so that we may share his wisdom
and become one with him when he comes in glory,
for he lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit
one God for ever and ever. Amen.
During the day, when apart.
Lord, we are nothing without you.
As you sustain us with your mercy,
receive our prayers and offerings
and draw us closer to each other in love day by day.
We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen
Evening/Night Prayer together.
Father, you give us a share in your life
through our love for one another in our marriage.
Teach us to live by your wisdom and to love the things of heaven
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
